This isn't just another album; it's a narrative that has left fans and critics alike piecing together the clues. Public Image Ltd. - End Of World
In a heartfelt tribute to John Lydon's late wife, Nora Forster, pioneering post-punks Public Image Ltd. (PiL) have released their new album, "End of World." Nora, who passed away on April 6 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's disease, serves as the emotional core of this album, which is set to release on August 11 via PiL Official/Cargo UK Distribution. The album's track "Penge" stands out, described by Lydon as a "medieval Viking epic," juxtaposing its grandeur against its reference to a South East London suburb. This release marks the band's first in eight years, following their 2015 album, "What the World Needs Now…" With the album's inception dating back to their 40th-anniversary tour in 2018, fans can anticipate a culmination of ideas that Lydon describes as a "massive explosion." PiL is also gearing up for a U.K. tour in September, with European shows in October.
Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You
Exploring the challenges of the 21st century and the constancy of change, Will Oldham's latest album under his moniker Bonnie "Prince" Billy, "Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You," is a testament to collaborative creativity. Recorded in Louisville, KY, with recording engineer Nick Roeder, the album is enriched by contributions from a diverse group of artists: violinist Sara Louise Callaway, keyboardist Kendall Carter, violist and violinist Elisabeth Fuchsia, mandolinist Dave Howard, saxophonist Drew Miller, and vocalist Dane Waters. The opening track, "Like It Or Not," addresses the inevitability of change, with Oldham's voice harmonizing with the distinct sounds of the mandolin and backing vocals. Seamlessly blending traditional inspirations with modern elements, this release adds a unique dimension to Oldham's extensive discography, reflecting both his artistry and the collective talent of his collaborators.
Neil Young - Chrome Dreams
The long-shelved album "Chrome Dreams" has finally seen the light of day, capturing Neil Young's artistry's raw and intimate essence. Originally put together in 1977, the album was set aside in favor of "American Stars 'n Bars." However, "Chrome Dreams" holds a special place in Young's discography, as it features classic songs in their most unrefined forms, recorded the first time they were captured on tape. While tracks like "Powderfinger" and "Like a Hurricane" would later gain prominence, their initial versions on this album offer a unique glimpse into Young's creative process.
George Lynch & Jeff Pilson - Heavy Hitters II
Reimagining Imagine Dragons' hit "Radioactive" with a galloping rhythmic guitar riff, rock legends George Lynch and Jeff Pilson unveil their latest collaboration, "Heavy Hitters II." This dynamic duo, renowned for their time in Dokken, have crafted an album that spans reinterpreted classics from soul, modern alt-rock, and new wave to blues. The powerful vocals of Bernard Fowler, a longtime backing vocalist for The Rolling Stones, and the drumming prowess of Brian Tichy further enrich the project. The album showcases their innovative approach to music with tracks like Howlin' Wolf's "Smokestack Lightning," featuring guest vocals by Corey Glover of Living Colour.
King Kobra - We Are Warriors
Reuniting founding member and drummer Carmine Appice with longtime bassist Johnny Rod and vocalist Paul Shortino, King Kobra's "We Are Warriors" also introduces the talents of Quiet Riot guitarist Carlos Cavazo and former Dio member Rowan Robertson. The album's supercharged title track, "We Are Warriors," is the lead single and accompanies a performance music video. Carlos Cavazo describes the new single as an "anthem of how our lives were in the '80s," while Paul Shortino expresses the team's dedication: "We put a lot of love into this record." The album promises a blend of the band's classic sound with fresh interpretations.
Kataklysm - Goliath
Inspired by the events surrounding the assassination of King Richard I 'The Lionheart,' Kataklysm has delivered a standout track, "Bringer Of Vengeance." The American/French-Canadian melodic death metal syndicate, known for their powerful sound, has once again pushed boundaries. Vocalist Maurizio Iacono delves deep into societal issues, reflecting on a world rife with division, hate, and power struggles. Recorded at diverse locations, including JFD Studios in Dallas and The Cabin in Orlando, the album boasts production by Jean-François Dagenais and artwork by renowned Berlin metal illustrator Eliran Kantor. With "Goliath," KATAKLYSM reaffirms their position in the metal pantheon, offering fans a fresh dose of their signature sound.

Pale Saints - Slow Buildings
On their third and final album, Pale Saints changed their lead singer and found a balance between expansive shoegaze and tight rock songs
An established band changing lead singers is always a tricky proposition. With the departure of founding member, singer, and bassist Ian Masters following their second album In Ribbons due to a lack of interest in touring, Pale Saints could have called it quits. Instead, guitarist and backing vocalist Meriel Barham stepped into the fire, briefly filling the same spot in Lush well before the band established themselves. The result draws obvious comparisons to Barham's former band, but Pale Saints have a few more tricks of their sleeves on their third album Slow Buildings. Whether it is long, slow burn tracks like "Henry" or "Suggestion," or three-minute rockers like "Under Your Nose" or "Angel (Will You Be My)," the band gels around the ethereal voice of Barham.
