New Releases 🚨
Kristin Hersh - Clear Pond Road
Kristin Hersh, a pioneering figure in the indie music scene, co-founded the influential band Throwing Muses during her high school years, marking her as a trailblazer from a young age. Her latest offering, "Clear Pond Road," released via Fire Records, showcases her multifaceted talents as she wrote, performed, and produced the entire album at Stable Sound Studio. The album is a sonic memoir, with Hersh incorporating strings and ambient field recordings to create a lushly cinematic soundscape. Each track on "Clear Pond Road" exudes intimacy, capturing the sensory nature of memories and moments. The album's title holds deep personal significance for Hersh, symbolizing resilience and hope amidst life's challenges.
The Chemical Brothers - For That Beautiful Feeling
The Chemical Brothers, consisting of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons, have been a prominent force in the electronic music scene for almost 35 years. Having met at the University of Manchester, the duo has recently released their tenth album titled "For That Beautiful Feeling." This release coincides with a series of international tour dates, deluxe reissues of their older albums, and the unveiling of a retrospective book, "Paused in Cosmic Reflection," set to launch on October 26. This book offers a rare glimpse into their successful, chart-topping partnership. Despite their long-standing aversion to self-reflection, the title of their latest album encapsulates the essence of their musical journey, blending fresh sounds with familiar feelings.
Puddle of Mudd - Ubiquitous
Wes Scantlin, the frontman of Puddle of Mudd, once faced a tumultuous journey with the law, alcohol, and financial troubles but claimed sobriety in 2017, attributing his recovery to rehab and the unwavering support of his family and fans. Building on this resilience, the band has recently launched their new album, "Ubiquitous," via Pavement Entertainment. This release follows their 2019 album "Welcome To Galvania" and is now available on various streaming platforms worldwide. A notable track from the album, "Cash & Cobain," is a testament to the band's versatility, blending multiple musical genres into a cohesive sound. Scantlin's collaborations with former band members Doug Ardito and Christian Stone have been a significant highlight, with both contributing immensely to the band's songwriting over the years. Founded in 1991, Puddle of Mudd gained significant recognition with their 2001 album "Come Clean," which featured hits like "Control," "Blurry," and "She Hates Me."
Joan Osborne - Nobody Owns You
Joan Osborne's latest album, "Nobody Owns You," has just been released, and it kicks off with a compelling single, "Great American Cities." This track serves as a powerful counter-narrative to right-wing critiques of urban America, with Osborne drawing from her firsthand experiences to celebrate the vibrancy and creativity of these cities. The album, released via Womanly Hips Records, is described as her most personal work to date, offering a profound introspective journey set against a backdrop of rootsy and soulful melodies. Produced by Ben Rice and enriched with collaborations from esteemed artists like Cindy Cashdollar and Rachel Yamagata, "Nobody Owns You" stands as a testament to Osborne's 25-year eclectic career and her multiple Grammy nominations.
Mustard Plug - Where Did All My Friends Go?
Mustard Plug, a steadfast beacon in the ska genre, has just unveiled their latest masterpiece, "Where Did All My Friends Go?", through Bad Time Records. Hailing from Grand Rapids, this iconic band's newest album marks a significant return, being their first full-length release in eight years. Produced in collaboration with the renowned Bill Stevenson at the legendary Blasting Room, this album is their 8th studio endeavor, following the footsteps of their 2014 hit, "Can't Contain It".
Andy Taylor - Man’s a Wolf to Man
Andy Taylor, the renowned guitarist of Duran Duran, has just released his first solo album in over three decades, titled "Man’s a Wolf to Man." The creation of this album began around 2016 or 2017, a period Taylor refers to as "the beginning of the chaos." While the album's release was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, its themes delve deep into political unrest, the global health crisis, and Taylor's personal battle with terminal prostate cancer. Reflecting on the album's title and its relevance, Taylor commented on the societal breakdown he witnessed, emphasizing the rapid polarization and animosity that emerged. He elaborated on the album's core message, highlighting humanity's propensity to act as its own worst enemy, often mirroring the behavior of a wolf pack. This album is not just a musical endeavor for Taylor but a profound reflection on human behavior, societal challenges, and personal tribulations. Beyond this solo venture, Taylor has been an integral part of Duran Duran, contributing to their legacy, which was celebrated with their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year. Despite his health challenges, Taylor remains resilient, benefiting from an innovative cancer treatment that has extended his life. Furthermore, fans can anticipate his contribution to an upcoming Duran Duran album.
As Friends Rust - Any Joy
As Friends Rust, a band with a legacy spanning over 25 years, has released their latest album "Any Joy." The band, which originated in the late '90s, has seen various iterations but has always been anchored by the core members: vocalist Damien Moyal, guitarist Joseph Simmons, guitarist James Glayat, and drummer Timothy Kirkpatrick. Their music is a blend of melodic punk, resonating with thought-provoking themes suitable for contemporary times. Despite having three EPs, two 7 inches, and a full-length album to their name, "Any Joy" stands out as one of their most impactful works. The album was a collaborative effort, with recordings taking place in various locations across the U.S. and mixing and mastering done in Orlando, FL, and Germany, respectively. Andrew Seward from Against Me! contributed as the bassist for most of the tracks. The album's lyrics delve into modern communication challenges, political activism, and societal issues, presenting them not as definitive statements but as open-ended questions. As Friends Rust's approach to this album is not driven by nostalgia or commercial intent but by a genuine desire to share their music with loyal fans and new listeners alike.

Downset - Downset
On their 1994 debut album Downset. unleash a fury of rap-rock with lyrics that hit as hard as the down-tuned guitars and pounding rhythms
Incorrectly tagged as Rage Against The Machine followers (they actually existed before Rage), downset. offer a glimpse into the Los Angeles hardcore and metal scene as it transitioned from the 80s to the 90s. Like Rage, downset. combined big guitar riffs with social and political commentary on their self-titled 1994 debut, but traded the guitar histrionics of Tom Morello for a more streamlined approach. The result is a prime example of the unique 90s rock subgenre of rap rock, which would later evolve into nu-metal with the emergence of bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit, who brought the volume without the content.
