Rain Parade - Last Rays of a Dying Sun
Rain Parade emerged from the Paisley Underground scene in Los Angeles during the early to mid-1980s. Formed in 1981 by Matt Piucci and the late David Roback, the band later included Steven Roback, David's brother, along with Will Glenn and Eddie Kalwa. After David Roback left the band post their debut album, he formed Opal with Kendra Smith of The Dream Syndicate and later, Mazzy Star with Hope Sandoval. Rain Parade has now announced the release of their third studio album, "Last Rays of a Dying Sun", marking their first collection of new songs in nearly four decades. The album, featuring new songs penned by original members Matt Piucci and Steven Roback, is set to be released on August 4th via Label 51. The current lineup includes guitarist John Thoman, who has been with the band since 1984, drummer Stephan Junca, and guitarist/keyboardist Derek See. Adding a harmonious touch to the new record are Debbi and Vicki Peterson from The Bangles, who have contributed background vocals.
The Jesus And Mary Chain - Sunset 666 (Live Album)
The Jesus and Mary Chain, a band known for their unique blend of noise and darkness, have released their new live album, "Sunset 666". The album was recorded at the Hollywood Palladium in 2018 and released under Fuzz Club. The band has maintained their distinct poise and catharsis throughout their musical journey. "Sunset 666" documents their enduring appeal and the power of their live performances.
Mammoth WVH - Mammoth II
Mammoth WVH, the musical project led by Wolfgang Van Halen, has released their highly anticipated second album, "Mammoth II". The album, which was recorded at the legendary 5150 studio, was produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette and released through BMG. Wolfgang Van Halen, who is a Grammy Award nominee, has continued the tradition of writing all the songs and performing all the instrumentation and vocals himself. The 10-track collection, from the rocking opener 'Right?' to the Beatles-esque fade on the closer 'Better Than You', showcases the growth of Van Halen as a songwriter, musician, and vocalist. The debut single from "Mammoth II" is the upbeat rocker 'Another Celebration at the End of the World', currently in the Top 10 at Active Rock radio. Mammoth WVH is currently touring Europe in support of "Mammoth II", with a lineup that includes Wolfgang Van Halen (vocals/guitars/keyboards), Frank Sidoris (guitars), Jon Jourdan (guitars), Ronnie Ficarro (Bass), and Garrett Whitlock (drums).
Rick Springfield - Automatic
Rick Springfield, the Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and musician, has released his new studio album, "Automatic". The album, which Springfield describes as stylistically somewhere between "Working Class Dog" and "Tao," sees the artist returning to his first love of guitar-based power pop and keyboards. The album features 20 new songs, all written and produced by Springfield, who also played all guitars and keyboards. The album was engineered by and dedicated to Springfield's friend and soundman for over 25 years, Matty Spindel, who passed away late last year. Springfield notes, "His loss is something that will be felt by me, my band, and the entire touring family for a long, long time." The album is available for pre-order/pre-save on CD, vinyl LP, and digital from various outlets.

Recoil - Unsound Methods
Following his split from Depeche Mode, Alan Wilder returned to his Recoil side project and released the 1997 album Unsound Methods
After splitting from Depeche Mode in 1995, Alan Wilder focused his full attention on Recoil, his side project going back to the mid-1980s. In 1997, the same year DM released "Ultra," Wilder released the fourth Recoil studio album, "Unsound Methods." Free to explore the electronic soundscape, Wilder enlisted several vocalists to tackle the electronic/trip-hop material, including Douglas McCarthy from Nitzer Ebb and NYC spoken word artist Maggie Estep. The result is both of the time and ahead of its time, fitting in nicely with the mid-90s trip-hop sounds of Massive Attack, Sneaker Pimps, and Portishead while also foreshadowing the more experimental and cinematic sounds of James Lavelle's Unkle. The Adventures - Lions & Tigers & Bears
“How does the U2 of Belfast, 4 years out from their biggest UK hits, adapt to 1992? By dropping two members and otherwise pretending it's still 1988. Completely out of step with its time, but still filled with catchy songs and Terry Sharpe's voice will always be amazing. “ Keith Badje
St. Johnny - Speed is Dreaming
“A lost gem of 90’s alt rock. Apparently these guys were signed at the suggestion of Thurston Moore. This is their sophomore album and it’s their best one. Musically you can hear Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, and maybe even a bit of shiegaze in the noisy guitars. The songs are melodic and catchy. This album is well worth a listen and deep dive.” - Jonathan Lee
