Local H - LIFERS
It's been twenty-five years since Local H released their debut album Ham Fisted, and while many other artists and bands have mellowed or turned the volume down after that length of time, singer/guitarist Scott Lucas isn't one of them …

Descendents - All
The Descendents may be considered one of the most influential and important hardcore/punk/pop-punk bands of all time, but that doesn't mean the band was constrained by the labels. In fact, listening to their 1987 album ALL, which incorporates 1970s progressive rock sounds that would have been at home on a Rush record, you can hear how "punk" came to mean more than three chords and amp'd up rhythms by bands like Refused or disjointed mayhem in the vein of Mr. Bungle. ALL isn't just an album, it's a concept and life goal that splits the album between 2-3 minute anthems and longer experiments. Does it ALL work?
🎙 New 90s Episode

The 1995 album Good Weird Feeling by Odds is the right combo of radio-friendly pop and alternative, so why didn't it score a hit single?
Once the alternative gold rush hit for bands in the 90s, one song could make or break an album. But for every Sex And Candy, Cumbersome or Possum Kingdom, hundreds of other bands failed to make the Top 40 for a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with the quality of the music. Take Vancouver, Canada's Odds, whose third album Good Weird Feeling is a smart combination of alternative guitar rock powered by two strong singers with a knack for lyrical twists. The two obvious singles, "Eat My Brain" and "Truth Untold" never found a home on American mainstream radio, and like so many of their northern counterparts, the band remains almost entirely unknown in the lower forty-eight. | Special guest: Deren Svendsen, DMO UNION

Even - Less is More
Thanks to Darren L., next week we'll be checking out the 1995 album Less Is More by Even. In case you are wondering, we did not plan that we would review Odds and Even back to back, that's just called awesome coincidence.
As usually, give the album a listen, leave a comment and vote in our poll so we can discuss on the show.
Comments from the DMO UNION:
I really enjoyed this. Especially the first half. I did get the Superdrag feel from it, but also caught a Posies breeze, and a touch of strummy Teenage Fanclub at times, too. I'm not in a place to be critical of drummers but there were times when the drums seemed kind of hidden back in the mix. I thought there were some pretty pedestrian fills, too. But the songs were very melodic and there weren't any that I wasn't at least okay with. There's more than an EP here...so I give it the Worthy Album rating! - Whitney Beehler
Haven’t finished this one yet, but I like that this band recently released an album called “Satin Returns”. The vocals seem to be a 50/50 mix of Cobain and Pollard. - Jeremy Amend
Better EP for me. Reminds me of superdrag, ammonia and various other harder edged power pop bands. - Richard Waterman
Favourite songs are: stop and go man, don't wait and eternal teen. I would be interested to hear Jays opinion on the drummer and the drum sound... Not the greatest. Sorry! - Richard Waterman
