Menthol - Menthol
Menthol pairs Chicago-flavored alternative guitar rock with dense lyrical content for a fascinating self-titled 1995 major label release
Chicago and the surrounding areas like Champaign-Urbana nurtured a big guitar rock sound found in the Smashing Pumpkins, Hum, Catherine, Veruca Salt, Fig Dish, and others. Originally called Mother for their debut, the band signed to a major label, changed their name to Menthol, and produced an album worthy of that group with 1995's self-titled release. But the band takes a different approach vocally, spitting big chunks of lyrics filled with a variety of references and twisted wordplay. Special guest: Eric Norlander - DMO UNION

September Album Review Tournament - Final
Which album should we feature in a future episode of Dig Me Out? Here's how it works. We posted a group of nine suggested albums from the hopper the last 3 weeks. The DMO Union cast votes to decide the albums to move forward. Here are the top two winners from each group. You only get one vote in the final round. Choose wisely 🤣.
Richard Waterman: Faster Pussycat - Whipped!
Interesting detour for Glam Rock 80's band. It's got Nonstop to nowhere on it too!
Kyle Bittner: Grant Lee Buffalo - Mighty Joe Moon
An often overlooked gem of the 90s that combines Americana and alternative styles.
Eric Peterson: Alice Cooper-The Last Temptation
Cooper is a rock legend and for a couple of decades has been genre hopping and playing in different sonic playgrounds.. so what happens when he recorded an 90s Alternative inspired album?
Patrick Testa: Various Artists-If I Were a Carpenter
This collection of covers is truly inspired. So many cool alternative bands (big names, mid-sized, and small) took the opportunity to think outside the box and create something different with these iconic songs from the incredibly popular, sibling, soft-rock duo from the 1970s.
Jeff Gentes: Le Tigre-Le Tigre
it's a Kathleen Hanna post-Bikini Kill project. it is dope AF.
Kyle Bittner: Salmonblaster - Salmonblaster
A 90s band name, if there ever was one, this Canadian band from London, Ontario, is a fine mix of the Seattle Sound and power pop.
