Ronnie Atkins - Trinity
Ronnie Atkins, known for his work with Pretty Maids, released his third solo album "Trinity", marking his third solo album in three consecutive years despite battling stage four lung cancer. In "Trinity," Atkins leans towards a heavier sound with most songs written on guitar, a departure noted by the artist himself. The album was crafted with the assistance of Pretty Maids guitarist Chris Laney in songwriting and production, and features Pontus Egberg, former member of the Poodles and current member of Treat, on bass. Some notable tracks include "Paper Tiger," "Ode To A Madman," "Godless," and "Raining Fire," offering a mix of riff-heavy rockers and anthemic tunes.
The Feelies - Some Kinda Love: Performing The Music Of The Velvet Underground
The Feelies, known for their distinct post-punk sound, paid homage to The Velvet Underground with a special live performance on October 13, 2018, at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, where they covered 18 classic songs from the Velvet Underground's catalog. This performance was later turned into an album titled "Some Kinda Love: Performing The Music Of The Velvet Underground," released to share this live tribute with a broader audience. Produced by Feelies founders Bill Million and Glenn Mercer, the album includes renditions of well-known tracks and some lesser-known tunes from the Velvet Underground, reflecting a meld of both bands' musical styles in a live setting. Notable performances in the album include their takes on "All Tomorrow’s Parties" and "I’m Waiting for the Man" among others, showcasing The Feelies' appreciation for Velvet Underground's music. Crosses initially formed in 2011, and after their debut album, took a break, only to return with this new project that showcases a fusion of their creative expressions. The album's title holds a personal touch from Moreno, originating from a nightly phrase shared within his family, with the word "Delete" symbolizing the ephemeral nature of life's moments.
