New Releases
Cindy Wilson - Realms
"Realms," Cindy Wilson's latest solo album, released through the Kill Rock Stars label, encapsulates a unique blend of disco, New Wave, and techno influences. This long-anticipated project faced delays due to the unforeseen challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and The B-52's extensive "farewell" tour. Despite these setbacks, Wilson, a founding member of the iconic new wave band The B-52, remained optimistic, likening the album's prolonged creation to a "slow baking cake." Among its tracks, the evocative ballad "Not Goodbye" resonates deeply, serving as Wilson's heartfelt message to B-52's fans about the band's enduring legacy. Throughout her career, collaboration has been at the heart of Wilson's creative process, and as she looks back, she celebrates the journey, declaring, "It's been an amazing ride!"
Candlebox - The Long Goodbye
Candlebox has unveiled their final studio album titled "The Long Goodbye." In a press announcement, frontman Kevin Martin expressed the band's collective enthusiasm for the album, noting the creative boundaries they pushed to produce this final masterpiece. He described "The Long Goodbye" as the concluding chapter of Candlebox's illustrious 30-year journey in the rock 'n' roll industry. This album is the band's eighth and is being released in conjunction with their tour supporting 3 Doors Down. This extensive tour, commencing on June 14th in Baltimore, will continue until October 21st, concluding in Cherokee, North Carolina. Prior to the album's official release, Candlebox introduced a single titled "What Do You Need," which features Mona's Nick Brown. Additionally, Rhino Records is set to reissue the band's first three albums in a box set named "The Maverick Years" next month.
Sisters - Leecheater
SISTERS, a dynamic new band formed by Jason Blackmore from Molly McGuire and Mario Quintero from Spotlights, has released their debut album, "Leecheater" on August 25th. Described as a "Tour-De-Force of Heavy, Atmospheric Rock," the album is a testament to the combined talents of Blackmore and Quintero. The duo has seamlessly merged the best elements of their previous projects, resulting in a fresh and menacing sound. "Leecheater" is characterized by its brooding undertones, compelling rhythms, and powerful guitar riffs, reminiscent of an old Minor Threat album produced with a Queens of the Stone Age flair. The album's lead single, "Born Again," stands out with its robust drumming and distinctive rock guitar, addressing themes of redemption and the hypocrisy of those who seek religious atonement for their wrongdoings.
Wreckless Eric - Leisureland
Wreckless Eric, a pivotal figure from the Stiff Records era, is best remembered for his hit single "Whole Wide World." While he shared the limelight with renowned artists like Ian Dury, Nick Lowe, and Elvis Costello during the late 1970s, his ascent to stardom was more subdued than his peers. Over the span of four decades, he has released around twenty albums under various pseudonyms. His latest work, "Leisureland," signifies a return to his distinctive, somewhat haphazard recording style, characterized by guitars, temperamental analog keyboards, beat-boxes, loops, and the accompaniment of a real drummer, Sam Shepherd, whom he befriended in a Catskill, New York coffee shop. This album, consisting of 15 tracks, including several instrumentals, is a reflection of Wreckless Eric's introspection and his grappling with mortality. It promises a renewed sense of originality and self-awareness.
Filter - The Algorithm
"The Algorithm" by Filter marks a notable shift in the band's sound. Diverging from their signature industrial style, their new single “Obliteration” showcases a more pop-centric arrangement. Frontman Richard Patrick's vocals dominate the track, conveying a sense of despair with lyrics like “Ashes circle the drain / And now it’s all that’s left / All that’s left of me.” Produced in collaboration with Brian Virtue, the song is accompanied by an animated video crafted by German filmmaker Atanas Shopski, which paints a post-apocalyptic world. After a seven-year hiatus, this album release precedes Filter's tour with renowned artists Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, and Ministry. The band's earlier single, "Face Down," released in May, also hints at the new direction Filter is taking with their music."
MXPX - Find A Way Home
MxPx, the iconic band from Bremerton, WA, has just released their 11th studio album, "Find A Way Home." This eagerly awaited album, featuring 13 original tracks, was meticulously crafted over six months, showcasing the band's dedication to delivering music that resonates with lifelong and new fans. Recorded at the renowned Monkey Trench Studios in their hometown, the album was engineered and mixed by Ryan Furlott, who shares the producing credit with MxPx. Alongside this monumental release, the band has also dropped a brand new single, "Stay Up All Night," now streaming on all major platforms. Since their inception in 1992, MxPx has journeyed from major label successes to self-releasing their music, always staying true to their roots. As they gear up for an exciting year, fans can anticipate their performances at Furnace Fest and the When We Were Young Festival, with more headlining shows to be announced. The band's commitment to their fans was evident during the COVID pandemic, as they frequently hosted live online shows, a tradition they plan to continue even with the resurgence of live concerts.

Guns N' Roses - Perhaps (Single)
Listen now (2 mins) | Guns N' Roses officially released "Perhaps," a previously shelved track from the "Chinese Democracy" era. The song's debut was unexpectedly pre-empted when it was leaked on TouchTunes machines in various venues, despite an initial release date set for August 11. This track is particularly noteworthy as it represents the first collective composition and recording by Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan in 30 years, harking back to their 1993 album "The Spaghetti Incident?" While a rough version of "Perhaps" had been available online for a while, anticipation surged after fans heard it during a soundcheck for a Tel Aviv concert earlier this year.
Kula Shaker - Waves (Single)

Their latest album, a double album titled '1st Congregational Church Of Eternal Love (And Free Hugs)', was released in 2022.

Idaho - Three Sheets To The Wind
Idaho's 1996 album Three Sheets To The Wind isn't afraid to upend the slowcore sound with jazz flourishes and an occasional uptempo rocker
The slowcore sound can be simplified down to tempo and a minimalist approach, but like every genre or subgenre of rock music, there are always those pushing the boundaries and reinventing. On the 1996 album Three Sheets To The Wind by Idaho, the boundary-pushing comes as a pair of straight-up rock songs that wouldn't sound out of place on a Dinosaur Jr. or Heatmiser album. From there, the band adds jazzy and soulful elements - brushed drums here, an electric piano there - paired with Jeff Martin's evocative vocal that falls somewhere between the folky sadcore of American Music Club's Mark Eitzel and the more experimental post-rock of Low's Alan Sparhawk.
